Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru. Episodes #05 & #06

Well everyone, here’s Leoleshea and Pearl Diamond as they’ve arrived at the Sacred Spring City of Mal-ra for a special event reserved to Apostles called the World Games Tour. But wait a minute, where’s Fay Theo Philus?

Well, he’s here as Pearl told Fay that some suspicious person is welcoming him, complete with a banner.

This is Nel Reckless who became a fan of Fay after winning a Gods’ Game against Uroboros.

Yes, Nel is a bit of a creep, but the truth is that she was a former Apostle, meaning that she lost three times due to bad luck.

But despite being a former Apostle, Nel still shows some superhuman abilities as she tries to block their path. I mean, she zoomed past them in a blink of an eye!

Anyways, Nel wants Fay to take her in as one of his subordinates. Um Nel, you’re getting a bit reckless in shoeing yourself into Fay’s life.

Unfortunately for Nel Reckless, Fay Theo Philus and his allies decided to ignore her and went straight to the Arcane Court.

And by the way, this commando-looking dude is Chief Secretary Balegger Ions where he briefly told them that the Sacred Spring City of Mal-ra is hosting an inter-city competition in order to bring cities closer together.

Oh, and the inter-city competition is a warmup to the World Games Tour as Apostles are gearing up for the next Gods’ Game.

Also, Chief Secretary Balegger Ions wants the Apostles from the City of Ruin to meet one of the top Apostles in Mal-ra.

This is Dax Gear Scimitar, one of the best Apostles who has 3 wins and 1 loss, although Dax wants nothing more than continued success in Gods’ Games.

Therefore, he wants to recruit the best players not only in Mal-ra, but other cities. Sadly for Dax, Fay Theo Philus is pretty much satisfied having Leoleshea and Pearl at his side.

But despite being rejected, Dax Gear Scimitar wants to know Fay’s capabilities so he wants to challenge the Apostle in the upcoming inter-city competition.

Now then, it looks like Pearl Diamond recognized this hotel staff as a certain former Apostle. I have to say that Nel Reckless is still persistent to become Fay’s assistant or something.

Anyways, time for Nel to make her escape. At this point, it’s impossible for a former Apostle like her to join Fay’s group.

On the other hand, Dax is pretty interested in taking Nel under his wing ’cause he knows her worth. Unfortunately for Dax, Nel still wants to join Fay’s team.

So, she proposed a bet where if Fay wins, Nel wants Dax to assist Fay’s team in winning the next Gods’ Game. Otherwise, she has no choice but to join Dax’s team.

By the way, I guess it’s time for the inter-city competition where Fay and Dax will compete to see who’s the best Apostle around.

And they’ll compete inside this giant arena where both teams will play a sugoroku-like game called Mind Arena where they have two ways to win, either by reaching the goal or taking out the opposing player.

By the way, each player has cards to play as they can turn the tide of battle, but some cards can only work in specific classes such as Wizard, Healer, Traveler, and Trapper.

For Fay Theo Philus and Pearl Diamond, they found a rare but potentially useful card, although the requirements in activating it is pretty difficult.

Anyways, here’s Dax Gear Scimitar where he becomes a Wizard alongside with his partner Kelritch Shee.

Meanwhile, both Fay Theo Philus and Pearl Diamond decided to become a Traveler and Healer respectively.

While their combination is unconventional, Fay and Pearl are aiming to beat one of the opposing players at the last minute… using trap cards of course.

Now then, the game has begun as Dax casts Burning Rhythm in which this barrier magic can deal extra damage to the opposing players.

Based on my understanding, it appears that Dax and Kelritch are planning to take the opposing team down by draining their hit points rather than reaching the goal.

Thanks to Dax’s Burning Rhythm, it looks like he and his partner Kelritch are gonna win this inter-city competition by whittling down their opponents’ hit points.

Of course, Fay and Pearl won’t just let their rivals torture them as they have a plan for a comeback. And believe me, seeing them pulling an elaborate plan to win the Mind Arena is quite mind-blowing.

So first things off, Fay Theo Philus stores a card inside the storage that would be used later. Of course, he won’t use it as Fay plans to give that card to someone else.

And that would be Pearl Diamond where she used Encore to activate Fay’s card hidden inside the storage box.

This card is known as Heartache where it’s exclusive to the Healer class. And since Pearl Diamond is a Healer, this means that she can obliterate the opposing team without fail.

Well then, looks like Fay Theo Philus and Pearl Diamond has won the inter-city competition against all odds. They really outsmarted both Dax Gear Scimitar and Kelritch Shee.

But speaking of Dax, it appears that he’s not feeling frustrated as he’s eager to fight Fay again like a worthy rival.

I have to say that Fay found someone who’s not salty in losing a game between apostles, although he’s really tired after pulling that comeback maneuver together with Pearl so he’ll let Dax take the glory for once.

Anyways, tune in next time where Fay Theo Philus and Dax Gear Scimitar joined forces to tackle a Gods’ Game at the Sacred Spring City of Mal-ra. I wish them good luck but man, Dax is living his moment!

As for Nel Reckless, I’m curious on what’s gonna happen to her as Nel won’t just be a bystander for much longer.
