Strike Witches 2 Episode #11

If Episode 11 of the first season rings a bell on you (Yup, that episode puts the Strike Witches out of action and replaced by the Warlock mech. Then gone berserk due to the Neuroi core installed and destroyed thereafter by the Strike Witches), then this episode is gone dejavu with the same predicament… Only this time, the 501st Joint Fighter Wing are relegated to defensive roles on another human-controlled Neuroi: the Yamato battleship!

Also, it seems that Mio Sakamoto has almost completely emptied her magic powers. Not only she can’t stay on combat for too long, she can’t do the “Shin Reppuzan” for which her katana Reppumaru drains Mio’s magic powers. She’s now completely powerless… Awww…

Anyway, the mission will be like this: The 501st Joint Fighter Wing must protect the Yamato until it reaches a certain distance to which the battleship will begin and finish its Neuroification. For 10 minutes, the Neuroi Yamato will fly across the hive, ram into the hive’s shields, and fire its main cannons.

Sounds simple and it’s a sure win for the Human Alliance… Except for the main cannon firing, which is a “Fail, Yeah!” for my part. Man, will they ever learn for their mistakes of using the Neuroi technology. (Although they learned from the Warlock program, but still…)

So who’s gonna fire the main cannon? Mio Sakamoto! She’s ready to die for honor… Everyone is not amused, especially Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke. Cue the “Strike Witches saves the day!” on the final episode of Season 2…

BTW, who will wield Reppumaru on the final episode? Yoshika, perhaps…
