Puella Magi Madoka Magica: One Year Anniversary!

If you can’t read it, try reading some runes will ya?

On January 7th, 2011, the world saw the wonderful world of Magical Girls made by SHAFT!

It took notice with Ume Aoki’s character design and fell in love with it, especially for Madoka, who wanted to become a Puella Magi just like Mami…

…until Gen Urobuchi destroyed the happiness within this world!

That’s when darkness unfolds to Madoka Magica.

But despite having sorrows and loss of loved ones, especially those who are affected from the likes of Sayaka, Kyouko, and Homura…

There is a glimmer of hope that shines the world and destroys despair forever! Madoka conquered it all and the world was free from grief and doubt. That’s the story of Madoka Magica!

To all the viewers who watched this show, I would like to present the one year anniversary of Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It starts on this day, January the 7th, and ended on Good Friday, April the 22th.

It was the most outstanding work done by SHAFT, despite the circumstances such as schedule problems, quality, and the March 11 Tohoku Earthquake, that plagued the series to be cancelled. And yet, it persevered and gave us the grand finale!

Of course, I felt regretful that I didn’t pick Madoka Magica as the “Best overall anime series” during the 2010-2011 Anime Season. (which Durarara!! end up as the winner) But on this special day, I would like to retcon that and crown Madoka Magica as the “Best anime series of the 2010 Anime Season”.

So while we wait for more new materials that will expand the series such as movies, games, and manga by Houbunsha, let’s celebrate this day as Madoka Magica Day!

NOTE: I would like to thank and acknowledge Random Curiosity for providing the screenshots of Madoka Magica.
