Machine-Doll is Unbreakable Episode #01

Jojo reference aside, this is an anime about a Japanese guy named Raishin Akabane and his cute automaton Yaya. Their aim to become the best in the world, but they have to climb a long ladder to get there!

Anyways, this anime reminds me of Fullmetal Alchemist, except that Raishin is not a cyborg (he’s a magical puppeteer) and he can fight well despite being second last in academics.

On the other hand, he wants revenge and he’s not a complete idiot. At least there’s no one dragging him to the detention room. Funny thing is, Hiro Shimono (Raishin) and Hitomi Harada (Yaya) were once classmates in Fumizuki Academy from BakaTest, as Yoshii and Himeji respectively.

Production-wise, they should work this adaptation hard! What’s with the glare that they put on this scene?

Although the animation studio Lerche did some previous work including the adaptation of Dangan Ronpa, their work on the first episode feels so jarring and they should improve on their sequence, both 2D and 3D.

But anyways, I think they’ll improve it somehow. For now, it’s on to the next episode!

PS: Yaya might become yandere when Raishin is with other women, just like Himeji!
