And so it begins on this hyped anime adaptation of Kantai Collection, also known as the browser game where you control anthropomorphized ships to battle against the Abyssal Fleet!
KanColle sure reminds me of Strike Witches, right down to its use of CGI to some characters as well as having an orchestral soundtrack. And I have to say that it’s a good start for Diomedia and director Keizou Kusakawa who captured the look and feel of Strike Witches to this series.
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that this Fleet Girl named Fubuki is actually the main character of this anime series. Too bad though as she might lose focus to other characters like her idol Akagi-sempai, Shimakaze, Kongou, and other famous Fleet Girls from the browser game.
Not only that, but she’s a klutz as Fubuki’s first battle is a mess… and she was almost killed if it wasn’t for Akagi-sempai saving her from impending doom! In any case, I hope Fubuki won’t stumble again the next time she sortie.
One more thing, there are no males on this show, except for the Admiral in which his face will not be seen!
