HaruChika: Haruta to Chika Wa Seishun Suru Episode #01

Remember Sound! Euphonium that was aired back in Spring? Well, here’s this anime series that has a similar premise where you have Chika Homura, who gave up playing volleyball to pursue her musical career as a flutist.

Anyways, Chika met Haruta Kamijou who was her childhood friend since elementary school. While Haruta wants Chika to join the Brass Band Club, something ominous awaits there at the club room…

You see, there’s a twist on this anime series as HaruChika has mystery elements similar to Hyouka and Sakurako-san no Ashimoto ni wa Shitai ga Umatteiru.

Now then, what you see on this board is a music cipher, and Haruta found out that the cipher reads “I love you, thank you!” after analyzing it (with some unexpected help from Chika by seeing the keyboard on her cellphone).

Therefore, someone wrote this cipher who wanted to express his/her unrequited love. While we’ll never know who did it, seems that the cipher is relayed to someone within the Brass Band Club.

And that would be Shinjirou Kusakabe, the advisor of the Brass Band Club.

Now then, he became a teacher last academic year but it seems that in his first year, Kusakabe-sensei got a crush from one of the third year students yet he didn’t notice it until Kusakabe saw the music cipher.

Also, there’s more information about Shinjirou Kusakabe, as the reason why he became a teacher because Kusakabe-sensei was burned out on being a conductor. Well, it’s reasonable since everyone expects him to do better when performing oversees. In any case, mystery solved!

Then again, it seems that it’s only just the beginning as Chika-chan has a crush on Kusakabe-sensei, yet she’s somewhat torn with her childhood friend Haruta. Man, I don’t think there would be a love triangle on HaruChika.

In any case, looking forward to watch the next episode!
