GATE: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri Episode #24

Well, it’s the finale of GATE and do you think that Lt. Youji Itami and his group can do it alone? Not when his JSDF buddies decided to give him a helping hand on saving Princess Piña Co Lada!

In any case, they came up with a plan on infiltrating the imperial palace without causing too much attention.

Here, you have Itami carrying a truck disguised as a large cart, where Rory Mercury and Lelei la Lalena are inside of it. C’mon, there’s nothing suspicious inside that cart!

Then again, Lelei’s sleep magic is essential to take out a few guards here and there. Sorry Rory, but you have to save your bloodlust for later!

Inside the throne room, Princess Piña is being tortured by Emperor Zolzal’s trusted allies.

Yeah, I have a feeling that something horrible will happen for the princess!

Luckily, it’s not gonna happen as Lt. Itami, Lelei, and Rory have crashed the door because they’re here to rescue Princess Piña Co Lada.

Yup, Emperor Zolzal have a shocking expression when they arrived. Tyuule meanwhile, not so much.

On the other hand, Zolzal has an ace in his sleeve in the form of a giant orge…

…which Rory Mercury cut that monster until it’s dead! So much for sending an orge to defend your palace, Zolzal!

Anyways, Lt. Itami and his friends have successfully rescued the princess. But wait, it seems that there’s one person that needed to be saved!

Turns out, Lt. Itami needed to rescue former Emperor Molt who is actually alive after being poisoned by Tyuule back in Episode 18.

While he maybe weakened by the poison, Emperor Molt’s rescue is also important and so Yao Ha Ducy, Hamilton Uno Ror, and Mari Kurokawa managed to get him out of his sickbed. Well Emperor Molt, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride out of the capital!

Well, two important figures have been rescued! Now all Lt. Itami needs is to call both Shino Kuribayashi and Tuka Luna Marceau to get into the truck…

…and make their escape from the imperial palace. In any case, mission accomplished for the Japanese Self-Defense Forces!

Meanwhile for Emperor Molt, seems that he decides to make peace with Japan and appoint Piña Co Lada as the crown princess, meaning that she’ll succeed Molt’s throne in the future.

Of course, that wouldn’t sit Zolzal very much as the Empire will be plunged into civil war due to Emperor Molt choosing Piña over Zolzal!

Speaking of Zolzal, let’s just say that he suffered a breakdown after suffering a devastating defeat!

Meanwhile, Tyuule is somewhat crying for odd reason. Um Tyuule, are you supposed to kill Zolzal for avenging the massacre of your Formal Clan?

In any case, it’s time for the ceremony where Emperor Molt appoints his daughter Piña Co Lada as the new crown princess!

And yes, everyone was rejoicing including Yao Ha Ducy and various demi-humans who attended the ceremony.

Oh and don’t forget the Japanese Self-Defense Forces and Rose-Order of Knights as the celebrate Piña’s appointment.

By the way, it turns out that Akira Tomita has been dating Bozes Co Palesti for a long time that she got pregnant with him. Yeah, what a surprise there!

Also, seems that 1st Lt. Akira Yanagida and Delilah are now lovers are they almost killed each other back in Episode 16.

Yeah, that’s something Shino Kuribayashi would get pissed now that her buddies have girlfriends! One last thing, where’s Youji Itami?

Oh, he’s back in Akihabara for the annual doujinshi convention. Not sure if this was Summer or Winter Comiket?

Of course, he’s not gonna go to Tokyo Big Sight by himself as Youji Itami was greeted by Lelei, Tuka, and Rory! Well Itami, so much for your hobbies!

In any case, glad that this anime is over. Despite having a bit of controversy, GATE was a fun series to watch especially in the second half where things are starting to get interesting! While I want another season of GATE, seems that it won’t happen at all given the author’s right-wing stance.

With that said, it was a great show and I’ll miss Lt. Itami and the gang!
