Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Episode #13

And here it is, the final episode of Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu where you have Yotarou Yurakutei enjoyed his new life as a rakugo performer after hearing his master’s backstory.

But wait, there’s more to that as Yotarou has become a shin’uchi so congrats to him for rising to the top!

Meanwhile, here’s Konatsu and while her grudge against the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei was somewhat subsided after hearing his past, it seems that she’ll leave the household as Konatsu will have a child soon.

Unfortunately, we don’t know who is the father to Konatsu’s child so it’s sucks that she’ll raise it by herself. Poor Konatsu…

Moving onto the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei as he give respect to his deceased master. After all, he formally accepted the Yakumo name after seeing his long-time friend Sukeroku died together with Miyokichi (or Yurie).

While he’ll become the next president to the Rakugo Association, the man who is formally called Kikuhiko will be haunted by the ghost of his dear friend.

Well, I have to say that the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei felt sorry for himself for not saving Sukeroku and Miyokichi.

Speaking of Sukeroku, it seems that Yotarou is planning to inherit the stage name of his dear friend, which shocked the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei very much. Unfortunately, Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu ends right here.

What can I say, this anime series is one of the hidden gems in Winter 2015 and while the majority of the episode is focused on Kikuhiko’s backstory, it shows how he got there as well as meeting the likes of Sukeroku and Miyokichi that changed his life forever.

While Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu is a masterpiece, it’s sad that Studio DEEN won’t go that far… Fortunately, there’s good news at the end as it’ll have a sequel that tells Yotarou’s life as he inherit the stage name of Sukeroku, so it seems that the series will continue in the future!
