2015: Best anime sequels!

Hi everyone and remember what I said about my previous post where I couldn’t add a category for “Best Sequel Anime in 2015” because there’s too many of them? Well, here I am as I made a post on which anime sequels are the best in 2015!

Now I’m gonna be brief on this and please bear with me with this post. Also, enjoy this lovely picture of the main trio from Macross Delta!

05. Hello! Kiniro Mosaic and Gochuumon Wa Usagi Desu Ka??

Now I’m gonna start with these two Manga Time Kirara titles and it’s even more cuter than the first season, like adding new characters such as Akari Kuzehashi from KinMosa and Mocha Hoto from GochiUsa, as well as a few tweaks here and there.

What can I say, both Kiniro Mosaic and Gochuumon Wa Usagi Desu Ka? are very popular right now and I won’t be surprised if there’s a third season or a movie on the line. Well actually, KinMosa will have a special episode but it would be nice if both franchises make a cross-over!

04. Symphogear GX

Here’s Symphogear GX and it’s a bit of a step-forward from the previous season. While it has a new group of villains who are always one step ahead from the Symphogear users, I feel that both Hibiki and Tsubasa’s daddy issues almost turned into something worse (I still hate Hibiki’s dad though).

Nevertheless, it’s a good series but I’m worried about the upcoming seasons for Satelight’s singing magical girl anime franchise. Whether they would up the ante or sink further remains to be seen…

03. Working!!!

Next up is the third season of Working!! and I have to say that it was the best season that A-1 Pictures made!

Sure that the cast have returned but the most important thing that happened on this third season is simply progression and closure to some characters like Aoi Yamada meeting Kirio even though she doesn’t want to, Hyougo Otoo finally caught with his lost wife Haruna, and Yachiyo Todoroki and Jun Satou hooking up.

Oh, and let’s not forget about the 1-hour special in which Mahiru Inami not only she get rid of her androphobia, but stood up against Souta Takanashi’s creepy mother and prove to her that Mahiru-chan loves Souta-kun! Yeah, it was a touching conclusion to this series and the third season proves that! While A-1 Pictures will make a spin-off called WWW.Working!!, I wish they would go back to Servant x Service!

02. Durarara!!×2

Moving onto Durarara!!×2 and while the studio changed hands from Brains Base to Shuka in which is a step-down in terms of animation quality, it still kept the complexity and crazy shenanigans that’s happening in Ikebukuro with all of the characters playing their roles on either becoming the king of the hill, or stopping a major crisis that’ll turn the city upside-down!

Also, the fact that Studio Shuka made Season 2 into 3 parts gives more insight into some of the characters, as well as making a satisfying conclusion that not only closes Mikado Ryuugamine’s story but the urban legend that’s surrounding Celty Sturluson and her severed head.

Oh yeah, let’s not forget about their final fight between Shizuo Heiwajima and Izaya Orihara in which Shizuo won this round. Still Izaya will return to stir up more trouble but that’s another story to tell!

01. Yahari Ore No Seishun Love Come Wa Machigatteiru. Zoku

Finally, here’s Yahari Ore No Seishun Love Come Wa Machigatteiru. Zoku and just like Durarara!!×2, the series changed studios with Feel taking over the production.

While some of you including myself are bummed that the second season ends in a cliffhanger, OreGairu. Zoku improves a lot from the first season. Apart from having better animation, it’s more dramatic than ever before with more character development and such. Heck, Hachiman Hikigaya’s face says it all after showing emotion for once!

And there you have it, my top 5 (or 6) picks for Best Sequel Anime in 2015! Still, I wish OreGairu will have a sequel, but Shogakukan is the one that’ll decide on green-lighting Season 3…

I think Kiniro Mosaic is a pretty fail sequel… Should let Gochuumon stay at no.5 alone.

I don’t know about that as both series are quite popular at the moment. I think picking KinMosa and GochiUsa on the No. 5 slot is the best option for me.
