ViVid Strike! Episode #01

Ladies and gentlemen, I now present you the return of the Nanoha franchise as Seven Arcs returned to animate a new entry to the series… except that it’s a spin-off of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid.

But you know what, it’s a good thing that we have a new Nanoha anime series even though there’s no Nanoha Takamachi and Fate Testarossa in it. Heck, even Nana Mizuki and Yukari Tamura are not doing the songs!

Anyways, let’s start this first episode when Einhart Stratos found a girl who got a little scuffle with the boys. Yeah, she looks so beaten up…

Except that when Einhart approached the girl, she put up a whopping punch against the Hegemon-style practitioner before passing out.

Yeah, that scared the shit out of Einhart, but good thing she brought her guard up since Einhart Stratos is a trained martial artist. In any case, Einhart brought the girl to a nearby hospital so she can take a rest and have her bruises healed.

This girl, named Fuuka Reventon, is already recovered but she was eventually fired by her manager for beating up punks in the streets.

Luckily, one doctor told Fuuka that Einhart wants to meet her at a local gym…

…which is owned by Nove Nakajima. Well, she’ll living the dream after training Vivio Takamachi and her friends in Strike Arts, yet I don’t know how Nove becomes a successful trainer that she has her own gym?

Come to think of it, maybe Seven Arcs adapted some of the later manga chapters from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid, which in turn made ViVid Strike! a stealth sequel. Then again, it’s just speculation…

Meanwhile, Vivio Takamachi and her friends have returned, although Vivio-chan looked weird in the far right.

Also, here’s Einhart Stratos as she just got out of school together with Yumina Enclave. Of course, Einhart doesn’t want to keep Fuuka waiting…

So, both Einhart and Yumina changed their clothes into their training outfit and told Fuuka to start training. Of course, Fuuka Reventon refuses her invitation as she wanted to get a job and survive.

But you know what, Fuuka should learn from Einhart and become stronger. Also, Nakajima Gym is hiring sparring partners so it’ll be perfect for Fuuka to not only hone her fighting skill but to earn some cash!

With that said, Fuuka Reventon joined Nakajima Gym as a sparring partner…

…to Vivio Takamachi where she’s ready to kick some ass!

By the way, Vivio has beaten an undefeated under-15 champion before, of course I’ll tell you who that champion is.

With that said, it appears that Fuuka is getting bodied by Vivio-chan. C’mon, she’s a Strike Arts veteran and she’s gone toe-to-toe against Einhart in the past!

Anyways, the difference in strength and skill is very high for Fuuka Reventon as she’s at a critical situation.

But you know what, her lack of skill and strength can make up for her determination as Fuuka learned one of Einhart’s techniques.

Hmm, I wonder if she copied from the Hegemon-style user after unconsciously attacked Einhart earlier? Still, it’s better than having unrefined techniques that is useless against trained fighters!

With one devastating punch, Fuuka Reventon sends Vivio Takamachi out of the ring.

Even though she landed a blow against one of the veterans, Fuuka will have a long way to go on learning the Hegemon-style of martial arts!

One last thing, here’s the current champion that was supposed to be undefeated, but Vivio Takamachi beat her recently. This is Rinne Berlinetta, who is actually Fuuka’s childhood friend until she was adopted by rich parents.

Also, she was once cute and timid according to Fuuka until Rinne became a Strike Arts competitor, who beat Fuuka and look down on her for being weak. Yeah, I would say that she’s the equivalent of Fate Testarossa.

Anyways, it’s nice to see Seven Arcs back on this franchise even though it was a spin-off of a spin-off. On the other hand, there’s great news for the Nanoha franchise as the 3rd Movie titled “Reflection” is coming in Summer 2017, although I’m worried on Yukari Tamura on whether she’ll reprise her role or not.
