Hey guys and girls, it’s time for me to talk about my experience on attending Cosplay Mania 2016 at the SMX Convention Center.
As much as I want to attend both days, I only attended Day 1 so while I missed BACK-ON’s performance on Day 1, at least there’s Riho Iida to content with!
See, I’m here for Rippi’s concert as evidenced by this flower stand. Shout-outs to Zeroblade and his friends for bringing this flower stand to this year’s Cosplay Mania!
Now let’s start things off with the NHK World booth where I’ve participated in a quiz game. Now, the participants must answer various subjects from Japan, specifically sumo where most of them are not familiar with.
So when it’s my turn to answer, I got it right the first time!
And here’s my proof as I got a medal and a program brochure. I was supposed to get a Domo-kun stuffed toy at a lottery, but I got a pin instead.
Also, I’ve watched the Little AKIBA idol competition where various groups are performing to have a chance in going to Japan, and become representatives of promoting AKIBA towns and related content in Asia.
Anyways, this is Seishun Kakumei where they perform “Moon Pride” by Momoiro Clover Z while dress up as Sailor Guardians. While it’s impressive to see them sing and dance at a live audience, their performance wasn’t enough to win the prize. But let’s hope that Satsunyan and her crew will get better next time, ’cause they have the guts to do both where the majority of idol groups just dance.
C’mon, idols dance and sing and if they can’t do both, they’re not bringing the spirit of idols in a genuine way!
After the Little AKIBA idol contest, I went to the stage area where it featured STARMARIE for an interview before their performance.
While the idol group have previously visited the Philippines, specifically Best of Anime 2015, it’s nice to see them up-close before being put at the back during the concert.
Lastly, it’s time for the concert and I’m all lined up until the gates are open. Now, the reason why there’s so many people on this area is because they have Gold Tickets.
And here’s the vantage point for those who have Gold Tickets. This includes me as getting the gold ticket is the only thing I can afford. But you know what, separating the attendees into three tiers is unnecessary as there are a few Premium Ticket holders in the middle portion of the concert area.
Now then, it’s time for my thoughts on the “I Love Anisong” concert as I have fun watching it. Tokyo Performance Dolls is good, especially when they sang “DREAMIN'” from the anime Denpa Kyoushi. STARMARIE’s performance was the most exciting of all. Oh and as for Riho Iida, her singing is great even though Rippi performed 4 songs. Overall, it was worth the watch especially for Riho Iida’s performance.
Anyways, that’ll be it for this post. However, stay tuned for my post on Animax Carnival 2016 as I’ll be attending there on October 15 and 16, 2016!
