This is Harunobu Nikaidou’s version of Shogi 101, which are represented by cats that everyone can understand… even children!
Oh, and Nikaidou made his cutesy shogi manual all by himself, which will be published in the near future.
Honestly, I feel that Rei Kiriyama felt defeated by his friend (and rival) Harunobu!
Meanwhile, here’s Issa Matsumoto and Tatsuyuki “Smith” Misumi as they’re here to laugh- I mean sympathize Rei-kun for his loss at the NHK Cup.
Also, both Issa-san and Mr. Smith are fascinated by Harunobu’s passionate commentary that they got tears in their eyes, which they felt sorry for Kiriyama! At least they’re not jerks by the way…
But you know what, I feel pity towards Rei Kiriyama because he’s such a talented shogi player, it’s just that his emotions is holding it back.
Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that Rei-kun will be demoted if he continues his losing streak, which will cast some doubts on Kiriyama’s playing career. I mean, he’ll have a hard time going back up, which Rei sees it first hand when his adoptive father got relegated to a lower rank.
In any case, I’m hoping that Rei will bounce back but I guess I got caught up with his gloominess!
One more thing, here’s Kyouko Kouda and I have to say that she still sees Rei Kiriyama with contempt. Also, she wants Rei-kun to go back to his previous home, but Kiriyama doesn’t want to get tormented by Kyouko-san as he’s suffered already.
Anyways, I’ll see you on the next episode and someone give Rei a hug for once! It’s a shame that he’s getting farther and farther away towards greatness!
