Remember Shuuichi Tsukamoto, Kumiko Oumae’s childhood friend? Well, he’s here to give a birthday present to Kumiko since Shuuichi is out-of-focus most of the time.
Still, he can’t win his childhood friend’s heart as Reina Kousaka won’t let Shuuichi take Kumiko-chan!
In any case, it’s time for the national concert band competition where representatives from various regions compete to take gold. Oh yeah, and Aoi Saitou is there to see it!
With that said, here’s Kitauji High School where they’ll perform at the national stage. They did their best against the top schools from Japan, but will it be enough?
Afterwards, it’s time for the awarding ceremony where first off, the judges grant trophies for one of the best conductors during the competition. This includes Noboru Taki as he got himself an award.
On the other hand, seems that Reina Kousaka has decided to shout her true feelings to Taki-sensei. Yeah, that was a bold move coming from Reina-chan, I bet that she’ll marry her idol teacher in the future… unless Reina sticks to Kumiko-chan!
And now, it’s time to see the best concert band club in the country. Of course, we’ll never know which school came on top, but a few came a bit short…
This includes Kitauji who got bronze instead. Dammit, I’m so frustrated that they didn’t win it all, especially for the third-year students where it’s their last chance to get gold!
With that said, the national competition has come to its conclusion.
Of course, there’s some hope for first and second-year students, especially those who didn’t become regulars.
Take Hazuki Katou for example as she has improved a lot compared to the first season. Maybe next year, she might place herself as one of the regulars and Hazuki-chan will be playing alongside Sapphire Kawashima.
Meanwhile, Taki-sensei told both Kumiko Oumae and Asuka Tanaka that one of the judges named Masakazu Shindou is impressed on their euphonium performance.
For Asuka-sempai, it’s a dream come true that her biological father noticed her playing after disappearing for so long.
Glad that she got her happy ending, but it would be best if Asuka Tanaka wins gold for both herself and the concert band club!
In any case, the third-year students bowed-out as their days as concert band members has finally ended. For the second-year students especially Natsuki Nakagawa, they’ll take over the responsibilities of their seniors in order to bring the championship in Kitauji.
Well, looks like it’s time to wrap up this week’s episode! But wait, there’s one more…
It seems that Mamiko Oumae has also watched the national concert band competition, which is great for Kumiko-chan…
…as she told her older sister that she loves playing the euphonium. You know what, I believe that it was Mamiko Oumae that Kumiko fell in love on playing her instrument!
That’s about it for this week’s episode of Sound! Euphonium. Still, there’s one more episode to go in which it’ll serve as the epilogue to this series.
