Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen Episode #05

Well everyone, this episode will be a special one as the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei and the 3rd Generation Sukeroku will perform at the Kabuki-za, which is a theater located in Tokyo.

For Sukeroku, he’s excited to perform at a prestigious kabuki theater that his love for rakugo is growing even more!

So much that Sukeroku showed his finished tattoo to his master as he doesn’t want to leave anything that’s half-cooked. Then again, Sukeroku needs to be careful of showing his back around!

Of course, even though the 3rd Generation Sukeroku is passionate about rakugo, he’s worried that might not find his own once Sukeroku performed Inokori despite being helped by Eisuke Higuchi. But you know what, I think Sukeroku will find his own rakugo once he performed Inokori!

Meanwhile, here’s the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei as he’ll perform Hangon-ko, complete with incense smoke to bring the atmosphere of attempting to bring their beloved back to Earth.

So far, Yakumo Yurakutei is doing fine even though his voice is slightly fading due to age. But once Yakumo reached the part where the main character tried to buy special incense and bring his beloved back, something strange has happened…

It appears that Yakumo saw the ghost of Miyokichi and he was flabbergasted to see his beloved return to haunt him.

Yet despite the appearance of Miyokichi, Yakumo Yurakutei pressed one to finish his performance of Hangon-ko.

But then, his strength ran out as the 8th Generation Yakumo collapsed after the curtain fell down. Could this be the end for Yakumo Yurakutei? I mean, the 3rd Generation Sukeroku made a promise that he’ll get his own rakugo before Yakumo passes away!

Anyways, this is one of the most intriguing episode yet as it appears that Yakumo Yurakutei performed like it was his last. On the other hand, I like how Sukeroku is passionate about rakugo despite his shady past, but I’m hoping that his master’s collapse won’t get him discouraged on performing Inokori.

With that said, I hope that next episode will be fine… unless a tragedy looms for next week!
