This is Kai Shimada when he’s just a kid. Growing up in a rural village where snow is abundant, Shimada’s only past time is playing shogi with the old folks.
By the time he became an adult, Kai Shimada’s effort has landed an opportunity to challenge Touji Souya and become a master himself!
Unfortunately for the 8th dan player, what worries Shimada the most is his ongoing stomach pains that he regularly takes medicine in order for the pain to subside.
Apart from his health, Kai Shimada is struggling to turn the tables against Master Souya, which resulted in a do-or-die situation where he must win the fourth match!
Still, Kai Shimada continues to put up a challenge as he goes to Kyoto for the decisive battle to determine his fate in the competition.
Luckily, the 8th dan player is accompanied by Rei Kiriyama where he’s the only one who can take care of Shimada. That’s good for Kai-san, but I’m worried about him…
Anyways, tune in next time as Kai Shimada must win against Touji Souya in order to have a chance to win the Lion King Tournament!
As much as the odds of winning are slim for Shimada, I wish him good luck!
