And there’s the aftermath of a rakugo theater in Tokyo as it’s left in charred ruins.
With so many memories formed inside the theater, it seems that it all went up in smoke!
Heck, even this former rakugoka was saddened that the theater he grew up with is gone.
But even so, the spirit of rakugo lives on and I feel that the theater will be rebuilt in the future!
By the way, Konatsu is here as she delivered the good news to the 3rd Generation Sukeroku… She’s pregnant and it’s actually his child.
Now that’s what I called good news there as Sukeroku will have another child of his own!
Meanwhile, Eisuke Higuchi insists of having his work recited by the 3rd Generation Sukeroku. But then again, he told Higuchi that as long as his master is still living, Sukeroku will do the classics. Still, there’s a possibility of Sukeroku reciting Higuchi’s works down the line since they’re made especially for him.
On the other hand, he asked Eisuke-san if there are works designed for female rakugoka, which Higuchi told them that there’s none of it. Now, it would be nice if there’s female rakugoka but this is the late 80s and there’s not much of it. But someday, there would be one female rakugoka that’s well-known!
And lastly, here’s the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei as he’s still recovering after last week’s episode. While Konatsu still resents him for having her parents died in an accident (which it wasn’t as Konatsu accidentally killed them), seems that her anger is getting less and less as Konatsu thanked Master Yakumo for giving her a good life.
On the other hand, looks like the 8th Generation Yakumo Yurakutei has decided to make Konatsu as his apprentice, but I wonder if it’s too little too late as his health is declining and I fear the the grim reaper will take his life. I mean, the shinigami is waiting for Yakumo’s soul!
Well then, I hope that the next 2 episodes will close this story out with a bright future as the Showa era is reaching its closure…
