Gamers! Episode #01

Hey everyone, this is an anime adaptation of a Fujimi Fantasia Bunko novel from the author that brought you Seitokai no Ichizon, Aoi Sekina!

Here, you have our protagonist Keita Amano buying games on the cheap, from dating sims to role playing games.

That’s until he met this popular girl named Karen Tendou who is also interested in playing games. Well, it’s interesting to see a school idol being a gamer chick!

But as for Keita-kun, seems that his heart stopped as his body is shaken with nervousness.

Well, it’s not surprising since Karen-chan is the most popular girl in Otobuki High School. Seriously Amano, you need to level up your social skills!

Anyways, Karen Toudou is inviting Amano-kun to the video game club together with another prospect member named Misumi-kun, whose forte is into block puzzle games.

Seems that Keita is not the only one who’s being invited, but having a video game club in Otobuki High School is very surprising!

Now then, the video game club was reinstated last year thanks to Tendou’s work. Currently, there are 3 members including Karen-chan and some of them are good… real good!

Take Gakuto Kase for example as he’s one of the best first-person shooter players on the planet. Come to think of it, I wonder why some pro teams didn’t recruit Gackt when he’s freaking good?

Also, here Nina Ohiso as excels in fighting games. As you can see, Nina-sempai is playing Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2!

Come to think of it, I wonder if game companies would sponsor this anime series other than Arc System Works? Also, don’t bet on Capcom and their Street Fighter V ’cause Akiba’s Trip already did that!

But let’s go back to Keita Amano as he played a FPS game with Gakuto-sempai. Unfortunately, he’s burned out due to Amano getting killed many times.

Because of that, he decides to decline Tendou’s offer of joining the video game club as he’ll rather play games for fun… and also help a friend in a smartphone game that Keita-kun is currently playing. Um Amano, I hope that you don’t regret that decision.

Anyways, I think that Gamers! will be very exciting to watch this Summer not just because there might be a lot of shout-out and product placements from various game companies, but this show is dedicated to those gamers regardless of who they are. Now then, I’ll see you on the next episode!
