Fall 2017: The rest of the field…

This post is brought you by Highschool DxD as I show you the key visual for the fourth season, now titled as Highschool DxD HERO and as you can see, there’s a difference between the current character design from the previous one and fourth season will be animated by Passione. And for those who don’t know about Passione, they’re the ones who made Rail Wars! so I’m worried about this animation studio handling Ichiei Ishibumi’s novel series. Also, here’s the official trailer which was shown yesterday!

By the way, I’ve decided to relegate Konohana Kitan into a watch-only category because I don’t have time to blog that show due to real-life obligations, while I’ve dropped Imouto sae Ireba Ii. due to having an idiot plot that I couldn’t stand watching it until the end. Anyways, kept you waiting for Fall 2017 huh?

01. Osomatsu-san

Let’s start the ball rolling with Osomatsu-san and it’s been 2 years since its premiere back in October 2015. I don’t know whether the Matsuno sextuplets are still popular after being out for a long time (with some specials being aired between these two seasons), but Osomatsu and his brothers are doing their best to be popular and stay relevant even though the Heisei era is about to end soon.

Still, Studio Pierrot retained the absurd comedy of the first season, right down to putting parodies and self-awareness of the ever-growing fandom, so rest assured that you’ll enjoy watching Osomatsu-san… until it’s gone out of style. That last part was just a joke!

02. Konohana Kitan

Next up is one of the new anime shows airing this Fall as Konohana Kitan tells the story of Yuzu and her days working as an attendant of Konohanatei. And as you can see from this picture, they’re mostly made up of fox girls.

I have to say that it’s an interesting anime series and while it might have some yuri elements since it came from Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime S, I’m interested in some of the characters like Satsuki who aims to become a shrine priestess someday. Regardless, it’s gonna be those shows when you’ll feel good upon watching it!

03. Net-juu no Susume

Another new show airing this Fall is Net-juu no Susume where you have Moriko Morioka playing an MMORPG after quitting her job and becoming an Elite NEET. And while she’s living the bum life, Moriko-san’s life will soon change when she accidentally met Yuuta Sakurai online (as a female character Lily no less). By the way, Morioka is playing as a male character Hayashi.

With that said, this is another anime show that’s somewhat interesting as it deals with NEETS and the pressure of society that Moriko-san decided to quit a stable job in the pursuit of happiness by playing games. Then again, this show will spend most of the time showing the MMORPG part with less time in real-life. And besides, Net-juu no Susume will be overlooked by other shows that are far more interesting and/or exciting than watching a female NEET playing online games. Until then, I’m hoping that something good happened at the halfway point.

04. Himouto! Umaru-chan R

And finally, let’s end this post with Himouto! Umaru-chan as the series returned for another season. Sure that Umaru is acting normal towards her friends but when she’s at home, Umaru turned into a slob where she enjoys watching anime and play games all the time.

In any case, it’s still has the same hilarity as the first one and Dogakobo is doing a great job of it so far. On the other hand, I expect a grand finale on Himouto! Umaru-chan since the manga is about to end soon. Let’s hope that Umaru has the courage to reveal her secret to her friends and keep their friendship intact.

With that said, that’s about it for my first impressions this Fall 2017 as I’ll see you again in November for its halfway point. And by the way, I might finish some shows like Warau Salesman NEW and NTR: Netsuzou Trap before the end of the year.
