Shoujo Kageki Revue Starlight Episode #08

Hey everyone, it’s time for another episode and this time, it’ll be focused on Hikari Kagura as she tries to become the best stage actress in the United Kingdom so that she and Karen Aijou can perform together at the stage.

Yes, Hikari is doing her best and works hard to shine brighter on the stage. After all, she and Karen made a promise together when they’re kids!

But then, we have the audition battle in London where Hikari participates in order to become the Top Star.

Man, it’s not just Seisho Music Academy who hosts the auditions, but the Royal Academy of Theatrical Actors too? Damn, can’t escape from BATTORU fate!

Unfortunately, Hikari Kagura lost in the final day of the audition. While I don’t know what drives the eventual winner to become Top Star, all I can say is that she wants to become number one!

As for Hikari however, it seems that she lost something important. Her smile and radiance: Gone! Basically, she became a shell of her former self and really, this is one of the consequences of participating in the underground audition where the winner of the Top Star will get all of the radiance from her defeated foes.

However, the talking giraffe gave Hikari another chance to reclaim her brilliance… and that’s by sending her to Japan where Kagura will become a transfer student at Seisho Music School and compete there.

Come to think of it, I feel that the giraffe planned it all along to send Hikari to Seisho Music School to not only disrupt Banana’s constant time resets, but also to confront her childhood friend Karen Aijou because they share the same dream.

In any case, Hikari Kagura returned to Japan to partake in the audition battles where she’s currently facing the most dangerous Stage Girl in Seisho Music Academy.

That’s right, it’s Nana “Banana” Daiba as she wants Hikari to join her Starlight stage play. Y’know, the one where she and the 99th class created on their first year?

Come to think of it, maybe Banana knows on what her circumstances regarding the loss of her brilliance, which is why she wants Hikari to join her stage play so that her radiance will be protected forever.

Meanwhile, we have another fight courtesy of Karen Aijou and Claudine Saijou. Let’s not forget that Claudine is currently in 2nd Place behind Maya Tendou, which is why Karen will have a tough battle ahead!

But now, let’s go back to the battle between Hikari and Banana where the former came back from the brink of defeat.

I must say that her promise with Karen is what drives Hikari to overcome her lack of brilliance and therefore regain what she lost during her overseas study.

Anyways, looks like the battle will be finished once the dust has finally settled. Who will win this time around?

Turns out, it’s Nana Daiba who lost the battle as her robe was dislodged by Hikari Kagura.

Then again, I feel that she’s just holding herself back as Banana is still considered as a threat! After all, Banana defeated Maya two times already or even more.

Still, what’s important is that Hikari Kagura won as she claimed Position Zero. Of course, what worries me is her eventual fight against Karen Aijou on the last day of the auditions and only one will claim Top Star.

Speaking of Karen Aijou, she beat Claudine Saijou in the most surprising fashion, which puts her in 4th place on the leaderboard. With this in mind, I feel that this audition is wide open after these two battles, although let’s not forget that Maya Tendou is still a contender to the Top Star position.

In any case, I have to say that this the most enjoyable episode that I’ve watched so far as Hikari Kagura regained her brilliance. Still, I don’t know what twists and turns might give me in the remaining episodes of Revue Starlight. Anyways, see you next time!
