Ah Strike Witches, this anime is still alive and kicking since 2008 and while the World Witches franchise is handled by various anime studios, the premise of having pants-less girls fighting against the Neuroi remained the same as David Production will take the helm on this latest show.
Anyways, let’s begin at Helvetia Commonwealth where Navy Officer Mio Sakamoto and her escort Ensign Hijikata went to Lausanne Medical School to see Yoshika Miyafuji.
Sure that Sakamoto is no longer part of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing since she lost her magic powers, I’m glad that she has some time to see her teammate doing well at a medical school.
However, it appears that their quiet time got interrupted when everyone is running away. Could it be that Helvetia is being attacked by the Neuroi?
Oh, they have a bear problem and it’s gonna pounce on Altia Grimani. Oh boy, I hope someone will save her.
Good thing Yoshika Miyafuji steps in to save her classmate from being pounced by a bear. Of course, she’ll have to use a magic barrier to protect Altia.
And while Ensign Hijikata wants to save the girl, Mio Sakamoto told him to watch as Yoshika tries to calm the bear down.
In any case, Miyafuji managed to save Altia Grimani as she finally calms the bear down. Turns out that it got a tooth cavity, which is why the bear got agitated.
On the other hand, there’s more bad news where Ensign Hijikata contacted the Venezian Navy. It turns out that they got caught in a large iceberg.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that Altia’s father is in the Venezian Navy as she’s worried about him. Seems that someone needs to rescue them…
…as the battleship Doge is being chased by a large iceberg. Yeah, it’s unusual for this iceberg to chase a battlefield at the Atlantic Ocean.
With that said, Yoshika Miyafuji went to the Atlantic Ocean by herself in order to save the Venezian Navy. Then again, I have a bad feeling about this in regards to that iceberg.
Turns out that it’s actually a Neuroi where they supposed to have a weakness to water, but the Neuroi mitigated it by coating itself with ice. Ugh, this is getting ridiculous!
Of course, I’m worried about Yoshika Miyafuji as she doesn’t have any firearms to take out the Neuroi. Well, I only pray that her teammates have arrived to help her out.
Anyways, that’s about it for the first episode of Strike Witches: Road to Berlin. I’m impressed that David Productions captured the essence of Strike Witches, but now I can’t wait for the next episode as Miyafuji needs help!
