On this episode, looks like Rise invited the new girl from the previous episode, now named as Yukino Tachibana, as Sumika Maehara tests her baseball skills despite the fact that Yukino previously plays softball in her youth.
But as you can see, Tachibana hits the ball very hard that it sends Hiyori Hayama flying over the field, although I’m impressed that Hiyori managed to catch the ball.
Now that Sumika learned that the new recruit is a monster at bat, Maehara tests Tachibana’s catching skills as she throws a nasty fastball clocked at more than 160 kph.
Fortunately, Yukino catches Sumika’s high speed fastball pitch with ease. All I can say that Rise found a new member that’ll be essential in their upcoming baseball match.
Heck, even Tachibana can sing well. Sadly, Yukino can’t join Hiyori’s team as she has some family business to attend to.
Hmm, now I’m curious on why Yukino Tachibana can’t complete in Extreme Sport yet.
But first, it’s time for Hiyori Hayama and her friends to visit Yukino’s place where it’s actually big. Turns out that her family runs a kendo dojo.
And here’s Yukino’s grandfather where he’s actually the current grandmaster of the Tachibana-ryu school of swordsmanship, although he’s bed-ridden in recent years.
Anyways, it turns out that Yukino’s family has a flourishing kenjutsu tradition where her father and brother will become successors of the Tachibana-ryu school of swordsmanship.
But 3 years ago, Yukino’s father and brother got caught in a car accident on their way to visit a friend’s dojo.
This means that Yukino is the sole heir to the Tachibana-ryu school of swordsmanship where she dedicated her life in learning kenjutsu throughout her life.
Of course, Yukino’s mother wanted her daughter to enjoy various things in her life such as playing other sports, rather than dedicate her time succeeding her family’s school of swordsmanship.
While it’s sucks that Yukino doesn’t want to participate in Extreme Sports due to her family commitment, I feel that she should do it both.
Now then, it seems that it’s time for Hiyori Hayama and the rest to leave the Tachibana residence but before they go, Hiyori asks Yukino’s mother a favor.
You see, Hiyori Hayama wants Yukino’s mother to give the documents to her daughter as she hopes that Yukino wiil join Rise in time for the baseball match. Then again, the possibility for Yukino to join the team is nil.
Still, I pray that Yukino Tachibana will participate in Extreme Sports soon as she can’t dedicate her life in learning kenjutsu forever.
