Let’s begin with Kraft Lawrence where he’ll be rescuing Holo from the Medio Trading Company as Richten Marlheit and the Milone Trading Company are here to back him up.
And speaking of Richten Marlheit, he told Lawrence some secret passwords in order to complete the rescue mission. And by the way, Lawrence will need to rescue Holo before Milone Trading Company strikes a deal with the King of Trenni.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the Trenni royal family is having a financial crisis that they’ve produced some lower-quality silver coins in recent times.
Anyways, time for the rescue mission where Lawrence went to the sewers to find his companion, although it’ll be very difficult to navigate without a torch.
Fortunately, Lawrence managed to find Holo after uttering the secret password. Seems that one of the employees from the Milone Trading Company found the wise wolf.
And by the way, they got some sacks full of Trenni silver coins as they stole from the Medio Trading Company.
So while he rescued Holo from being executed by the Church, the hardest part will be returning to Milone Trading Company in one piece.
Speaking of Holo, she’s really mad at Lawrence for taking so long to rescue her. Quite understandable coming from the wise wolf, although I have to say that Kraft Lawrence managed to rescue her before the Church stepped in.
Oh yes, there’s more coming from Holo as she told Lawrence that there’s one person from the Medio Trading Company who remembered her as a deity.
With that said, they need to get back to the Milone Trading Company or the Medio Trading Company might caught wind of their plans to-
Oh wait, looks like they caught wind of the situation as goons from the Medio Trading Company already captured a few ruffians from the Milone Trading Company.
As for Holo and Lawrence, they’re doing fine so far as they took down a few goons. Of course, they’re still on the run as Holo and Lawrence will need to find an exit.
However, the situation got worse when someone stabbed Lawrence. Not a great look for the merchant as he has a mission to fulfill.
Fortunately for Kraft Lawrence, he retaliated against this goon by slamming into the wall and kick him in the nuts.
Of course, he’s still injured that I’m worried that Lawrence might pass out due to blood loss.
Well, Holo patch his injuries up but man, Lawrence looked so stressed out that he’s closer to death I’m afraid.
Still, they need to find the exit as soon as possible or the Church might notice something odd underneath the sewers.
Unfortunately, the merchant and the wise wolf reached a dead end.
Well actually, there’s an exit hole above them but there’s no rope to climb on, so basically they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Anyways, the goons have finally arrived and wait a minute, I recognize this guy in the center. That’s Yarei!
And speaking of Yarei, it’s revealed that his village is being funded by the Medio Trading Company and thus they have bountiful harvest every year. So I’m really surprised that Yarei decides to help the Medio Trading Company by convincing Kraft Lawrence to hand over Holo to him.
Oh and why he wants to capture Holo and then hand the wise wolf over to the Church? It’s because the age of pagan gods has ended where Yarei doesn’t need to appease them for miracles anymore.
Unfortunately for Yarei, Lawrence has an obligation to send the wise wolf home, therefore the merchant declined his offer. I guess Kraft Lawrence has some standards to follow huh?
With that said, looks like Yarei failed to convince Lawrence to hand over the wise wolf as he ordered the goons to murder them. On second thought, it’s a bad idea for Yarei to take on Holo.
And speaking of Holo, she’s gonna transform into a large wolf by sucking on Lawrence’s blood. Unless they brought a cannon or a giant spear, they’re basically powerless against a wolf diety.
In any case, the Medio Trading Company has no damn chance of stopping Holo as they ran away. Now I’m worried about Yarei as he might get-
Oh wait, Yarei is gonna get chomped by Holo as Kraft Lawrence tries to stop the wise wolf by yelling at her. I don’t think it’s effective though.
Never mind, it appears that Holo doesn’t want to eat Yarei as the wise wolf throws him down instead.
I guess she realized that eating Yarei wasn’t worth it. I mean, she might grossed out for chomping a farmer allied to the Medio Trading Company.
In any case, Yarei was spared as he can’t win against a wolf deity. Of course, it’s sucks that Holo is stuck as a giant wolf.
Therefore, she decides to leave Lawrence at the sewers. It’s unfortunate that the merchant got abandoned by a wise wolf, although Kraft Lawrence needs to be rescued as quickly as possible.
Luckily, the Milone Trading Company managed to find Lawrence and nurse him back to health.
Meanwhile, here’s Richten Marlheit where he told Kraft Lawrence that the deal with the Trenni royal family is complete.
Of course, Richten will give a share to the merchant since he outplayed the Medio Trading Company by exposing their shady misdeeds.
Oh yes, about the share? Well, Lawrence will receive 50% of Milone’s profits so he got paid quite a lot. Then again, Kraft Lawrence won’t get silver coins as he’ll rather have pepper instead.
Why pepper? Because it’s not only lighter than coins but spices are in demand since winter is coming soon. After all, people need spices to cook their meat.
While the Trenni silver coin issue is finally resolve, it’s time to find out what happened to Holo the Wise Wolf?
Well, the wise wolf herself is still alive as she got a new set of clothes and was preparing to leave to another city, only for Lawrence to stop at her tracks as he promised to take her home.
I have to give props to Lawrence for not abandoning Holo despite transforming into a giant wolf at the sewers earlier.
One last thing, seems Richten Marlheit saw both Kraft Lawrence and Holo as an inseparable duo to the point that he calls them as “Spice and Wolf”. Yeah, he really dropped the title of this anime series.
But that concludes Episodes 5 and 6 where it was a tense experience for both Lawrence and Holo, although I’m glad that they’ve survived together.
Also, while I feel bad that Yarei got involved in Medio Trading Company’s currency manipulation, I’m hoping that he’s okay even though we’ll never see Yarei in future episodes.
Anyways, tune in next time as Lawrence and Holo will embark on another journey towards a new city.
